Outpatient Mental Health Services

SouthWest Nu-Stop Recovery and Educational Center (SWNSREC) is committed to the guiding principles of the Transformation Recovery Initiative. We have incorporated all the elements of recovery oriented systems of care that assures a realistic opportunity to achieve goals through creating environments that promote dignity, respect and acceptance.  SWNSREC’s continuum of recovery oriented services and supports build on each person’s strength and resilience.

"Our person-first approach is applied to all aspects of programming, with integrated services that are built upon the “uniqueness” of each person".

Our Outpatient Behavioral Health program is developed around a holistic and peer influenced recovery-oriented system of care, that fosters personal growth, empowerment and self-determination for every individual who enters SWNSREC's doors.   We encourage our members to unite with the community thus promoting understanding and reducing the stigma of mental illness.  Our person-first approach is applied to all aspects of programming, with integrated services that are built upon the “uniqueness” of each person.  Thus, our continuum of recovery-oriented services supports and builds on each person’s strength and resilience.

SWNSREC outpatient clinic is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. Programming is flexible, whereby some members attend treatment once per week while others attend 5 times per week.  Schedules are based upon a member’s need and will change as the need changes and progress occurs.  The potential member is referred for treatment, an appointment is set within 48 – 72 hours and at that appointment a comprehensive Bio-Psychosocial Evaluation is completed. The member is scheduled for the appropriate level of care and provided a schedule for treatment and their Counselors name.

SWNSREC’s clinicians function as patient advocates and case managers, as well as therapists.  Members have the opportunity to participate in individual counseling, group therapy, family counseling, parenting classes, peer activities, and social events that are ancillary to their comprehensive psychiatric assessment / evaluation and medication management.
