Healing Houses to Support Your Recovery
SouthWest Nu-Stop Recovery and Educational Center (SWNSREC) Healing House, which opened in the later part of 2014, is a healing house. It is designed to provide members of SWNSREC with an integrated, gender-specific system of support that bridges the treatment of addiction and related behaviors with the reconnecting of self, family, workplace, and community.
“This Healing House offers mentorship and hope!”
Currently, the Healing Houses serves as many as 200 men and women between four different locations a day, all of whom are walking the path of recovery. With 24 hour supervised care, we provide a structured, clean and safe environment where residents can begin to realize their potential, regain and maintain stability, and live clean and sober lives. In the family-like environment our residents receive guidance from compassionate staff members that help them explore options and choices for change and marginalize the impact of life-centered challenges.
In consideration of the men and women counting on us for safety and privacy, SWNSREC prefer not to publish the location of the Healing Houses. But we welcome inquiries, post assessment and assignment to a counselor or member of our clinical staff. One of SWNSREC’ indirect goals is to meet the demands of the times, whereby societal changes are resulting in men carrying the household and raising their children as single parents or being the caretaker of elderly parents or grandparents. SWNSREC recognize men must be healthy and whole to step up to such a demanding charge and honorable roles. SWNSREC is dedicated to assisting men with their recovery as well maintaining their mental stability to take their roles as the head of the household. Therefore we have transitioned from the initial mission to cater to women only, as we now provide gender specific services to both men and women. And we are looking forward to the possibilities, as we extend and realize the Healing Houses mission.
Dedicated to guiding our members that struggle with substance abuse challenges, SWNSREC Healing Houses offer them mentorship and hope! Our 24 hour supportive care provides an environment for a resident to develop self-determination and reach independence. The daily schedule focuses on the importance of treatment, teaches decision making skills, and how to accept responsibility and accountability for choices, all with the goal of successful re-entry back into the community and workforce.
Each Healing House provides life and lifestyle options that includes:
life skills training.
strengthening healthy relationships;
educational and vocational opportunities.
“Your first step to recovery begins here…”
